Runners Guide Canicross
The minimum age for dogs is 18 months.
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times on the entire competition grounds.
Dog owners must provide proof of liability insurance when collecting their race materials.
All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations. The following vaccinations are mandatory: rabies, distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, kennel cough, and leptospirosis.
Dogs that cannot be inspected during the veterinary check will not be allowed to start.
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times! The maximum leash length when fully extended is 2.50 meters. Retractable leashes are not permitted.
A padded and suitable pulling harness with a panic snap is mandatory. The harness must not restrict the dog's movement or breathing and must be connected to the handler via a shock-absorbing system. The dog may not wear any collar other than the harness.
If a handler is competing with two dogs, they must be led with a single tube lead and connected with a neck lead. In this case, both dogs may wear a collar for attaching the neck leash in addition to the harness.
