To introduce newcomers from road triathlon or those not entirely familiar with mountain biking to this extraordinary outdoor sport, we have been offering the so-called O-SEE Reduced on the REDUCED TRAIL since 2003. The O-SEE Reduced is also popular with female athletes and juniors. The distances, 0.75/26/5 km, are comparable to a sprint triathlon.
For juniors (ages 18/19), the O-SEE Reduced is considered a qualifying competition for the XTERRA Youth World Championship.
After a successful finish, you'll definitely want more. That's when the O-SEE Classic or even the XTERRA Full Distance comes into play. Improvement is, of course, desired and welcome!
Competing as a team means that everyone starts in their specialty or favorite discipline. Whether swimmer, mountain biker, or runner – team spirit is paramount. This team spirit is what truly defines the atmosphere of the O-SEE CHALLENGE. With imaginative team names and sometimes custom-made outfits, participants line up at the starting line and have a blast. Often, teams aren't even formed until the day of the competition. Team participation is often the gateway (and is subsidized by health insurance companies) to future individual competitions.
